We were delighted to re-engage with some of our existing USA Nuclear Market owners and deliver a bespoke training course on MIDAS Meter® use and value maximization. Whilst many of our nuclear market customers have been using our technology for simple through-valve leak detection, there is now a real appetite to extract even more value, through leak rate quantification and periodic risk based inspections (RBI), to support leak rate trending over time and the operational advantages that this delivers. Part of this training session focused on consulting on real-life, ongoing valve leakage challenges, currently being experienced by the operators.
With the travel restrictions in place at present, this course was delivered online. A total of 13 delegates from 3 nuclear power plants attended the training and the feedback was excellent. A follow-up practical session – at the customer’s facility – is being lined-up for later in the year to ensure all operators are fully up to speed in the application of the technology and value extraction.
We all agree that our “normal” world of work has been completely changed around us during the Covid-19 pandemic. In light of this, and just like everyone else in the Group, we at Score Diagnostics have been focused on putting our efforts into giving our customers the best possible ongoing support via our online platforms.
We are delighted to confirm that we have recently successfully delivered to one of our Europe-based customers the first ever 1-Day MIDAS Meter® Theory Training Course, which we have taken online, given the global travel restrictions we are currently facing.
Whilst this version of the course certainly doesn’t offer the same practical learning experiences for delegates as our usual on-site presenter-led sessions, it has demonstrated that at least some of the training experience can be successfully delivered online.
This will no doubt be of great comfort to all stakeholders and has helped us keep the continuous improvement of asset integrity management heading in the right direction during these challenging times.

Score Diagnostics have been working hard over the past few months running MIDAS® Valve Diagnostics Immersion training sessions over “Teams” to our global locations, given the travel restrictions which are in place due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The purpose of these sessions is to enhance the knowledge and confidence of our team members on our MIDAS® Range of Valve Diagnostics / Condition Monitoring equipment and systems, as well as our service delivery experiences, to ensure that the best possible local support can be provided to our customers at every location globally.
So far, we have had the great pleasure in sharing this knowledge with our Score team members in the Far East (Malaysia and Indonesia), Norway, Australia and Canada.
We would like to say a big thanks again to everyone that has attended these sessions and made them successful. We really hope that you enjoyed the experience too and that our joint customers in these regions can benefit from this investment in your learning and experience.
We look forward to our next meeting with you all, hopefully in person, once global travel restrictions ease.
The ever-growing global population of deployed MIDAS Meters® (Score Group plc’s valve leak detection, quantification and trending equipment) has required Score Diagnostics Limited’s training team to be highly active in the delivery of their certified operator training course. The following infographic highlights the trained and certified operator population growth from just this year alone.
The increase in demand for MIDAS Meter® training to be delivered to operators has highlighted that the uptake of valve condition and performance monitoring equipment and systems is becoming more widespread than ever. The technology is being adopted at an increasing pace, driven by the fact that people are more aware of the value of asset integrity management as a way of ensuring that their assets are performing their required functions effectively, efficiently and safely. Valve diagnostics is supporting the global trend towards reliability centred maintenance activites.
